How to request an interpreter
- Complete the request form below (businesses and organizations).
- The Interpreter Coordinator confirms availability and assignment details.
- TDHHC bills the requesting entity at the end of the month.
Note: Interpreter services must be requested by the business or organization, not by the Deaf or Hard of Hearing client.

For businesses: ADA & billing
TDHHC helps doctor's offices, hospitals, attorneys, and other entities comply with ADA requirements for effective communication. Community and medical assignments use the same base rate whether a basic- or master-level interpreter is assigned. Specialty assignments (court/legal, etc.) use a separate published rate.
You may request or decline a specific interpreter when scheduling. Interpreters cannot be double-booked; if your preferred interpreter is unavailable, the coordinator will contact you.

The business or organization that requests the service is responsible for payment. TDHHC bills monthly.
Can a Deaf individual request an interpreter directly?
Requests come from the entity providing the appointment (clinic, court, employer, etc.). TDHHC can help individuals understand how to request access from that entity.
