TDHHC HISTORY

In 2012 a group local met to discuss the possibility of beginning a deaf center in Tyler. Why start a center for the deaf and hard of hearing? The answer is simple. There was nowhere in or around the Tyler area for deaf individuals to meet, congregate, join in fellowship and services, or conduct / participate in any formalized activities.

That meeting led to the formation of the Tyler Deaf and Hard of Hearing Center. TDHHC’s vision is to offer an all-inclusive group of services to meet the needs of those who are deaf, hard of hearing, and deaf-blind.

These services include:

  • Interpreter services
  • After-school and summer programs for children
  • Senior citizen programs
  • Sign language classes
  • Adult literacy classes
  • And more…

The TDHHC strives to meet the needs of the community it serves.
